Andrew Attends Accountex 2025

Andrew attended  Accountex at Excel London on May 15th and 16th.  The two-day event brought together thousands of accountants, finance professionals, and tech providers from across the UK and beyond — and offered invaluable insights into the future of our industry.

A Busy and Bright Event

“It was incredibly busy – a real hub of activity,” Andrew commented. “The scale of the event and the sheer number of attendees made it clear just how important and well-regarded Accountex has become within the profession.” The sunny London weather was the perfect backdrop for two packed days of innovation, collaboration, and conversation.

Insightful Talks on MTD and AI

Among the standout presentations were sessions focused on Making Tax Digital (MTD) and the emerging role of AI in accounting. These discussions offered clarity and expert guidance on how firms can adapt to evolving regulations and embrace technological change.

Discovering Tools for the Future

Andrew highlighted a number of exciting innovations, including new features from Inform Direct, a company secretarial software provider. With upcoming changes at Companies House expected in Autumn 2025, these tools promise to streamline administrative processes and enhance efficiency.

Impressive Exhibitors

Both Sage and Inform Direct stood out for their forward-thinking solutions and user-friendly platforms. “It was encouraging to see how these providers are responding to the needs of modern accounting firms,” Andrew noted.

Hot Topics: MTD and AI

The themes of Making Tax Digital and Artificial Intelligence dominated many of the discussions — signalling a clear direction for the industry. These are not just buzzwords, but practical areas where change is already underway.

Reconnecting and Collaborating

The event was also a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow accountants, software developers, and industry leaders — both familiar faces and new contacts. “The conversations we had were energising and useful,” Andrew shared. “There’s a real sense of community and collaboration in our profession.”

Strategic Takeaways

Andrew left the event reassured that G W Dick & Co is already on the right path. “It was comforting to know that we’ve taken proactive steps to prepare for MTD,” he said. “We now have a better understanding of the tools and resources available, and greater confidence in the decisions we’ll make moving forward.”

Looking Ahead to 2026

For those considering attending Accountex next year, Andrew’s advice is clear: “It’s absolutely worth it. Just make sure you go with a plan. There’s so much to see and do that it’s easy to get knocked off track if you’re not intentional.”

Stay tuned as we continue to embrace innovation and support our clients through upcoming changes like Making Tax Digital.
